Inclusive Graduate Education Network (IGEN) is an effort by scientific societies and higher education institutions to increase the number of physical science doctoral degrees earned by underrepresented minority students.

The IGEN National Meeting brings together professional scientists, underrepresented minority graduate students, and scholars of equity and inclusion in graduate education.

Graduate students will:

  • Strengthen mentoring relationships
  • Build professional networks
  • Explore career paths

Professional scientists will learn more about how to:

  • Transform graduate admissions and recruitment practices
  • Utilize culturally responsive mentoring practices
  • Develop graduate-level bridge programs
  • Recruit qualified, diverse individuals
  • IGEN holds 2019 national meeting

    — IGEN held its first national meeting in collaboration with the University of Central Florida (UCF) Physics Department on October 26-27, 2019.
  • Inclusive practices workshops at IGEN National Meeting

    — IP & Research Hubs to host Holistic Review workshops at upcoming 2019 IGEN National Meeting in Orlando.
  • Join us at the 2019 IGEN National Meeting

    — IGEN to hold its inaugural National Meeting October 25-27 on the campus of the University of Central Florida through partnership with the Department of Physics, College of Sciences, UCF.
  • Become a workshop facilitator

    — Physical and social scientists are invited to apply for a 2.5 day workshop to learn to facilitate holistic graduate admissions workshops.
