Abstract

In STEM, the lab, classroom, and candidacy exam are all designed to provide graduate students with opportunities to build their science identity and knowledge as academic professionals. Panelists will present emerging research designed to increase awareness of how these learning environments function as racialized and gendered spaces. This panel is designed to provide faculty and graduate program administrators who are interested in centering equity in STEM instruction with the skill-set to identify issues of race and gender that emerge in academic learning environments.
