Making Authentic Professional Connections in STEM Spaces - Presented by Joerg Schlatterer and Corrie Kuniyoshi from the American Chemical Society

What are common myths about networking? What makes it difficult to make connections with others and how can those barriers be broken? How can scientists use their own unique strengths and personalities to navigate authentic networking? Join this interactive session to learn about and practice making new connections towards developing professionally and authentically building new relationships.

Networking for Success - Presented by Midhat Farooq from the American Physical Society

Experts estimate that over 75% of jobs are found through networking [1]. Networking can not only facilitate one's job search, but can also help with career exploration and foster mentoring relationships. In this interactive workshop, students will reflect on their current network, learn about building and maintaining connections, and work on developing a strong elevator pitch. Participants will have plenty of time to ask questions and get a chance to practice networking skills during the session!
