Lorena Medina Luna
Dr. Lorena Medina Luna is an Education Designer at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) Education and Outreach office. A passionate science communicator, she is the lead organizer for the NCAR Explorer Series, leads science communication workshops for young professionals, and is working to increase bilingual (Spanish-English) communication in the geosciences. She is also the co-founder of SOLESS - Society of Latinx/Hispanics in Earth and Space Sciences, based out of the CU Boulder CIRES office. Dr. Medina Luna received her PhD in Geology (Geophysics) from the University of Michigan investigating the stresses that generate earthquakes. She received her M.S. in Geology from California State University, Northridge and her B.S. in Earth and Environmental Science from the University of California, Irvine.
