Dr. Erika Brown (she/her) is a Program Lead at the American Physical Society (APS), partnering with faculty, students and other physics professionals to advance diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) within the physical science community. In her current role, Dr. Brown serves as the Backbone Lead for the IGEN Alliance, Program Lead for the APS Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity Alliance (APS-IDEA), and senior staff liaison for the Committee on the Status of Women in Physics (CSWP). As Backbone Lead, Erika coordinates and manages all Alliance-wide activities, including planning and running the IGEN National Meeting, coordinating the NAB, managing virtual and in-person project meetings, setting agendas and recording actions and outcomes, communicating with the NSF INCLUDES Coordination Hub, tracking progress on milestones of each project component, managing sub-awards, working with the external evaluator, and managing project communications. Dr. Brown is a proud alumna of the all-women's HBCU, Spelman College, and earned her M.S and Ph.D. in Psychology from Brown University.
