Andrea Albert

Andrea is a physicist at Los Alamos National Lab. She has been at the lab for almost 8 years. She recently became the team leader for the Dynamic Diagnostics team in the Physics Division. This team is composed of experimentalist that measure different phenomena from experiments that only last 10 microseconds. In short we blow things up and measure the position and velocity of the shocked material with lasers and take pictures with X-rays!  The other half of the team takes pictures of the neutrons produced at fusion experiments at the National Ignition Facility (NIF). She is excited about this new leadership role and is always looking for new ways to help her team achieve their career goals, remove obstacles, and provide positive encouragement.

Andrea got her PhD at The Ohio State University in Columbus Ohio, which is where she met her husband Dylan. Dylan has an unconventional job; he live streams himself playing video games on the platform Twitch. Dylan and Andrea also have two cats who are brothers named Ben and Marty
