Creating a USEFUL Individual Development Plan

Graduate students put so much time and effort into pursuing their research, yet they sometimes neglect the assessment of their professional goals along the way. This session helps graduate students keep both their long- and short-term professional goals in balance by developing an individual development plan (IDP). Participants will explore long-term career possibilities that align best with their interests, skills, and values. They will set strategic goals for the coming year designed for progress toward finishing the PhD and additional goals designed for progress toward a desired career outcome. Finally, participants will receive feedback on these plans from experienced professionals and mentors.
