Natasha Warikoo

Professor or Sociology

Natasha Warikoois Professor of Sociology at Tufts University. Her most recent book, The Diversity Bargain: And Other Dilemmas of Race, Admissions, and Meritocracy at Elite Universities (University of Chicago Press, 2016), won awards in the Sociology of Race and Ethnicity from the American Sociological Association and the Society for the Study of Social Problems, and from the American Educational Research Association. In 2017 Warikoo received a Guggenheim Fellowship to study racial change in suburban America. This project will culminate in a book titled The Rules of the Game: Asian Americans, Whites, and the Quest for Excellence in Suburban America (University of Chicago Press). Warikoo earned her BSc/BA in mathematics and philosophy at Brown University, and her PhD in sociology at Harvard University.
